How to Install and Manage WordPress with WP Toolkit
Welcome to Eastern Shore Web Services! One of the easiest ways to launch and manage your new website is by using the WP Toolkit included in your hosting control panel.
WP Toolkit is a single management interface that allows you to easily install, configure, and manage your WordPress sites without needing to handle the technical backend details.
Here is how to get your first site up and running in just a few clicks:
Step 1: Access WP Toolkit
- Log in to your cPanel account.
- In the left-hand sidebar or under the Domains section of the main dashboard, click on WP Toolkit.
Step 2: Install a New WordPress Site
- Once inside WP Toolkit, click the Install button near the top left of the screen.
- A setup panel will appear. Fill in the following details:
- Installation Path: Choose the domain where you want WordPress installed. (Leave the "Directory" field blank unless you specifically want the site in a subfolder like
yourdomain.com/blog). - Website Title: Give your new website a name.
- Plugin/Theme Set: You can leave this as "None" for a clean install, or select a predefined set if you have one.
- Website Language: Select your preferred language.
- Administrator Account: Choose a strong username, password, and an email address you check frequently. Save these credentials, as you will need them to log in to your WordPress dashboard!
- Installation Path: Choose the domain where you want WordPress installed. (Leave the "Directory" field blank unless you specifically want the site in a subfolder like
- Click the Install button at the bottom of the panel.
WP Toolkit will handle the rest! You will see a progress bar as it sets up your database and files.
Step 3: Log In and Manage Your Site
Once the installation is complete, your site will appear in the WP Toolkit dashboard.
- To log directly into your new WordPress admin dashboard, simply click the Log In button on your site's card.
- From this same dashboard, you can turn on Smart Updates, manage your plugins and themes, and back up your site with a single click.
Note on Maintenance Mode: Occasionally, when running updates, your site may temporarily enter Maintenance Mode. WP Toolkit handles this automatically. If your site ever appears "stuck" in this mode, you can easily toggle it off using the Maintenance Mode switch on your site's card in the WP Toolkit dashboard.
